Date format in reports

Hi,

I've just installed GnuCash 1.6.0 and it is amazing improvement over
1.4.x. Much thanks to everyone involved.

I have some questions though: how do you change the date format that
appears in reports? I have date format set to 'UK' (which we also use
in Australia) in the GnuCash preferences, but the reports still show the
date in US format. I can't see any way to change this.

Another minor internationalisation niggle: most currencies are
displayed using their ISO currecy code, but USD seems to be displayed
using the '$' symbol. My default currency is AUD, but I have a couple
of USD accounts and it seems a bit non-uniform (and potentially
confusing) to have '$' used for USD. If I wanted to use '$' for
anything, it would be AUD, but I would prefer to just use the proper
currency abbreviations. Am I missing some preferences setting that
controls this?

Thanks,

David
