Yes, I know exactly what it is. Its obscure.  It took me a *long* time
to fix this one.  You have to go and delete (use rpm -e ??) older 
versions of libgal.  As many of the old versions as you can.  Gal has
some font thing in it, and its screwing up the later versions. How? I
duuno, rpresumably through some config file ??
