finance-quote & gnucash

Hi gnucashers,

I am trying to get the stock quote to work on 1.6.4-1, RH7.1.
I was getting an exception (broken pipe, crash) until I removed a
"yahoo" source & left all sources "vanguard".

Once I did this, I was prompted to upgrade some out of date perl
modules (I neglected to write down the exact msg:(. Anyway, I did as
asked, and went through a lengthy process involving cpan and now have
a ~/.cpan directory with a ton of stuff in it.

FWIW, the broken pipe was at price-quotes.scm:280
"...(display #\( to-child)"

So, now I have a .../Finance-Quote-1.06 where I ran perl
Makefile.PL;
make;
make install;
just in case the upgrade procedure did not do it for me.

I ran all the test in testdir and I can get my quotes using the
Example/chkshares.pl, so I am assuming Finance-Quote per. se. is OK.

So, I tried gnucash again.

The problem with yahoo quote-source went away (i.e., no more broken pipe),
but gc still fails to get any of the quotes. I don't get any error
msgs, except:

gnucash: [W] "Unable to retrieve quotes for these items:
NASDAQ:QQQ
NASDAQ:CSCO
... etc.

Running gnucash -d doesn't get me any more output. I have tried the
menu, as well as running the command line
"gnucash -d  --add-price-quotes ...."

Anyone have any ideas what it might be?

PdP
