Install problems on Suse 7.2

You are getting close :-))

The rpm's with the correct versions can be found under 
http://www.suse.de/en/support/download/GNOMES/i386/update_for_7_2 which 
points to a different ftp location (i386/supplementary/GNOME instead of 
i386/7.2/suse). The libgal.so.8 is provided by the package 'gal' under 'Gnome 
base installation'. The libgtkhtml.so.13 is provided by the package 'gtkhtml' 
under 'Gnome applications'. 

During updating you might run into problems like 'libgal.so.4 is needed by 
package xyz', i.e. the old library might be needed by some other package. If 
that's the case and updating the other package is not an option, you could 
work around that by installing the new package with the option --force, i.e.

rpm -i --force gal.rpm

This will result in both the old and the new library residing on your system, 
which is kind of correct since both versions are needed by some program or 
the other.
