Gnucash 1.6.6 on RedHat 7.3 only starts as root

Sorry, but it makes no difference if the ~/.gnucash directory exists.
Which files are read after the datafile from gnucash_ui_init()?  Is it
possible to get gnucash to log this a little bit more?

For some yet unknown reason strace doesn't want to work on my machine
(I get permission denied on the ptrace call) on any other user than
root, but I'll investigate that further.
