Yes, this would be nice to have eventually, but in the mean time, it
seems that it is possible (at least with the current CVS version of
gnucash) to define a scheduled payment that uses a specialized
function (written in Scheme) to solve this problem without going
through the druid.  The problem is that I don't know how to go about
extending gnucash in nontrivial ways.  I was hoping that someone on
this list might be able to help me get started.
