Help tweaking a report?

Hi everyone.  I wasn't sure if this was a -devel or -user question, so
since I'm mainly an user, I'll ask here :)

I'd like to tweak the current Profit/Loss report so that if an account has
zero balance for the selected time period, it won't show up in the report.
 (It'd be great if i could make a configurable option, but i'll keep it
simple to start with).   

I've looked over the current report implementation, but I'm not quite sure
how to get at the value of an account.....
