Gnucash Stand Alone Application ?

i think this is pretty topic, but if not, i apologize in advance 

Is it possible to find, and to buy of course, gnucash 1.6.5 ( and the related 
library and so on { all what gnucash needs to run }) like a stand-alone 
application ? ( if yes, maybe in Italian ? ) 

This request due to a very impossible way ( for me :newbie )  to install such 
a version : always some library is missing or old or both old and not present 
at all.

I use Mandrake 8.1
