Asset appreciation (stocks)

Hi all,

Is gnucash capable of automatically updating my Asset Appreciation 
account when the price of a stock changes?

Eg.

Stock account:
1)   Buy    ASX    $14    100               $1400
2)   Price         $15                      $1500

When entry 2) is entered I would like to see

3)   Appreciation of ASX             $100

In the account that 2) named as 'Transfer from'.


More generally, I just wan't my accounts to be balanced when I do a 
stock price update.
