  There's a web-based, java application called Moneydance. I don't know if
it runs on anything other than linux. However, I _much_ prefer not having to
install apache to run local applications. My business accounting software is
text-based (with an ncurses interface) and is fast and functional. I wish
that I could do everything I need to do in gnucash without using the
trackball, just the keyboard.

  So, I'll vote for no web-based gnucash, unless it's strictly optional and
secondary to the existing UI.
