compiling gnucash 1.7.3

Hi list,

i successfully configured gnucash-1.7.3 on suse 8.0 (without dbopen) and 
can start compilation, but it stops with:
	gcc: cannot specify -o with -c or -S and multiple compilations
	make[4]: *** [cursors.lo] Error 1
	make[4]: Leaving directory \
		`/usr/local/src/gnucash-1.7.3/src/gnome-utils'
while
	gcc [...] -c cursors.c  -fPIC -o .libs/cursors.o

I'm using gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE).

How to fix this?? I really want to try the new hbci-features the latest 
versions has.
