After reading the source code, I've concluded that ... well, there
are several possibilities, but all of them are 'impossible'.

I am modifying the source to print out the name of the transaction,
and am putting this code into the unstable CVS branch.  If you can,
it would be great if you rebuild from there, and tell me what the 
message was.  (You can continue to work with 1.8.2 in the future,
I just want to get to the root of that problem.)

I'm a little short on time these days, I don't know if I'll get 
to the bottom of this (in a timely matter.
