QIF transfers

I installed it from mandrake Cds, that I bought online from Spidertools.com
So i can download the 1.8.2 and do ./configure, make and make install ??

Well, it depends on how you installed 1.8.1.  Generally you can
install 1.8.2 right over 1.8.1, but it depends on whether you
built 1.8.1 or installed a pre-packaged binary.  However, there was
a bug in the QIF importer w.r.t. split transactions that was fixed
in the 1.8.2 release -- I suspect you're being bit by that bug.
