Another cool way to get reminders is to set up a recurring appointment
in Evolution.

Another thing you might like is to set up a crontab entry to cat the
file which will effectively mail the file to you on a regular basis.

But to answer your question directly, you might try adding "gless file"
to ~/.gnomerc. I think the file might need to be executable.
