OFX import dates wrong

Hi, I ma useing GNUCash 1.8.1 on Redhat 8, here is a snip from an ofx
file from my bank:

<STMTTRN>
<TRNTYPE>XFER
<DTPOSTED>20030411
<TRNAMT>41.54
<FITID>2003041102
<NAME>RED SEAL NATURAL HEA
<MEMO>AprExp Rmb
</STMTTRN>


In the ofx import druid this (and others) is showing up the next day, on
12/04/2003.  Is this a known bug?

Also, is there any way to get gnucash to use the correct date format
instead of the backwards american date system?  It's just weird looking
at my transactions and initiially thinking they all came in on the same
day...
