Luanching GNUCASH

I'm not starting it from a terminal window.  I'm starting gnucash from the
applications>finances menu from the KDE interface in Mandrake  9.2.  Should
I try to start it from a termainal window?

What messages are printed in the terminal where you start gnucash?
