Version 1.8.0 installation fails

You need to manually edit all Makefile's in g-wrap and remove all 
occurrences of the compiler flag "-Werror". Sorry, this is a known issue 
of g-wrap 1.3.4, but g-wrap 1.3.5 keeps getting delayed.
