missing libgdk_imlib.la

Oops, of course config.cache. My error.
But stil no success.
I did a search in /opt before and indeed could not find libgdk_imlib.la.
Searched again, but now on /usr, and there they are, all of the libgdk_imlib 
files, in /usr/lib.
Is copying or sym-linking them to /opt/gnome/lib the solution?
Nevertheless, it still puzzles me that these files aren't found. Can I expect 
more of those misplacements?
