Installing 1.8.1 from RPM on 1.6.7 on Mandrake 9.0

DEar All,
I've got the 1.8.1 rpm from mandrake club and today I'm using the 1.6.7 that came along with Mandrake 9.0. I like to know if it enough to launch the new rpm to update/install the new version or if I need to unistall the previuos one. I'd like to know, also (please be patient), if I need other pakages and if yes which?
