Gnucash Confilict

I'm running Mandrake 9.0 and would like to install Gnucash to finally
get rid of any dependence on Windows.

I've successfully installed the guppi files/libraries but ran into a
problem when trying to install the libgal11 files - there was a message
that Evolution would have to be removed because of a conflict. 
Evolution is my primary mail client/address book/calendar and I don't
want to allow it to be removed for fear that I wouldn't be able to
re-install the program.

Is anyone out there running both Gnucash and Evolution?  Any conflict?
