GnuCash 1.7.7 hang after cancelling reconcile

After entering a number of transactions, I went to reconcile my VISA
statement.  I changed the reconcile date and then realized I wanted to
check to see if I had already reconciled the old statement by looking
at the cleared/reconciled flags in the account.  I clicked "Cancel"
then tried to scroll back.  Nada.  No mouse clicks anywhere do
anything.  Of course, I hadn't actually saved anything yet :-(

Oddly, I can resize the register window and GnuCash will redisplay the
information, showing more or less transactions depending on how I
resize it.  Here is the output from gnucash, unfortunately, no --debug
this time:
