"Search for" returning everything

Is there a way to "find everything" in the find windows?

For example, if you go into Business -> Vendors -> Find Vendor, is there 
an easy way to return all vendors?

So far, I've found that changing the search criterion to "matches regex" 
and using a dot works... but how to explain that one to the data entry 
people... ugh.
