The search option in Gnucash does not seem to have any functionality at
all.  Am I using it wrong, or is this the case?  If I enter a term it
does not point me to specific text at all, rather at general areas.

What about a search function that displayed sections containing the text
and highlighted the text within the sections when they were selected. 
Are there any plans for development of this sort of function?
