To me it sounds like you have lnk files that need to be deleted, because 
the program was not shutdown normally.  You can read about these in 
section 2.7 Backing Up and Protecting Data located in the help files. 
Go to the Help menu, select Tutorial and Concepts Guide, maximize the 
help window, select Basic Structure and Setup from the Table of 
Contents, and find Section 2.7 in the list there.
