Gnucash 1.8.1 configure fails: with Could not link sample xml program

Klaus,

Run YaST (you need to type in root password). Select "Install or Remove
Software." If you get a message about dependency conflict, click "Ignore
All." You can come back and fix it later. Most of the time it's better
not to let it perform the default actions anyway.

In the Filter: drop down menu select "Search." Type in the search string
"gnucash"

Install gnucash-1.6.7. YaST will automatically prompt you to install all
the dependencies you need.

Then 
rpm --erase gnucash
and follow my other post to install 1.8.1.
