compiling GNUCASH1.8.1 on Suse-7.3

I am building gnucash 1.8.1 on a Suse-7.3 distribution.

Running configure stopped with an error message that g-wrap was too old.

I compiled and installed g-wrap-1.3.4 using the standard installation 
procedure and found updated scm files in /urs/share/guile/g-wrap directory

Rerunning the configure for gnucash-1.8.1 persisted however in finding 
an outdated g-wrap. What to do
