gnucash can't find myaccounts.xac

Hi All,
	Recently had to change my home directory name from Jim to jim to 
eliminate some mail problems I was having.  I have not been able to get 
gnucash 1.8.1 to find and load myaccounts.xac since this change. When I 
try file, open and select the file myaccounts.xac I get the following 
error:

The file /home/jim/.gnucash/data/ is empty.

I know there is probably an easy solution to this but have been unable to 
find it. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
