Problem in recording a share purchase

Try setting the stock account "commodity" properly; you need to set it
to the stock commodity.  Select the account in the account window, click
"edit", and then find the commodity selection.  You probably need to
create a new commodity for your stock.

Note that you need 1 account per stock.
