This is because of a change made to guile between versions 1.4 and 1.6.
You can ignore it. We'll clean it up when we drop support for older
versions of guile.

This looks totally broken. Gnucash shouldn't be using the "canada"
method to retrieve quotes on USD. How did you set up the accounts that
use USD?
What I see in my test account (from memory) is something like this:
