Not able to update stock prices online

David and Derek,

Thanks. I did get that working. Now I'm wrestling with importing my QIF files. I think the problem is fixed in the 1.8.3 release that corrects a problem importing split transactions. I tried compiling the source but it complained that glib wasn't installed when it is so I may just wait until an rpm is available for SUSE 8.2.

Thanks,
Brad

Whenever you enter a price by hand, then it's going to report that.<br>For automatic price entries you need to run the "Get Quotes"<br>feature.<br><br>-derek<br><br>"Brad McNeely" <brad_mcneely at excite.com> writes:<br><br>> I've just installed GnuCash 1.8 in hopes of converting from Quicken. While experimenting with the online stock price update, I noticed that when I created an entry in the Price Editor, it always said that the source was user:price-editor instead of Finance::Quote. I know that the perl module is installed correctly because when I run update-finance-quote it returns saying that it is update to date. Here are the steps as I performed them in GnuCash:<br>> 1. Create a stock account for the item I want to track and check the box for online quotes and selected Motley Fool and Usa/New_York as the source and region.<br>> 2.
