I don't actually mind having the money sitting in my account for the
extra months. Those 3 pennies in interest might come in useful...
;-P
(And if she doesn't cash the cheque within 6 months it gets
automatically cancelled by my bank -- as has happened with another
bill I had to pay her. I'm still probably liable, but I did make a
good faith effort to pay, so...)
