Manually debiting and crediting

You could make a Income:Gifts account, then record a transaction in your 
Asset:Bank account (or where ever you are putting the money) as coming 
from Income:Gifts.

This will record the gift in both the Income:Gifts and the Asset:Bank 
account appropriately.
