gnucash VERY slow startup

unfortunately, no. while i'm an experienced unix sysadmin (most flavors of *nix)
my programming knowledge is mostly limited to shell and perl - so debugging
gnucash is largely out of the question for myself. i haven't heard from anyone
else, either.

we're hearing that it's probably a *bsd issue, but i just can't imagine that
nobody else is using gnucash on *bsd - but if others are, why haven't they
complained about this same issue? one possible answer could be that the others
who use *bsd and have experienced this are simply more of the programmer-type
and have fixed the issue themselves.

whatever the answer, i sure hope someone sends it my way ...
