If you have connectivity to your desktop, and have X running on both
machines:

      1) From a terminal window on the laptop ssh into the desktop.

      2) Once connected, "xhost +laptop"

      3) DISPLAY=laptop:0 (That's a zeroe, not the letter O)

      4) gnucash

The gnucash windows will appear on your laptop and take input from your
keyboard and mouse as through you are running gnucash on your laptop.
