Not knowing Gnome or GTK shouldn't be a big deal.  It's unlikely to
be a problem in those sources; more likely it's something in the
gnucash sources.  However not having a debuggable binary might be
problematic.  You would need all the gnome devel packages as well as
the g-wrap-devel package in order to build gnucash.  Luckily Red Hat
ships all the deps in RH7.3, so it's just a matter of pulling them
all down.
