installation/ mandrake 9.1/ ltdl.h

Hello

I've downloaded the tar gzip for gnucash 1.8.8 and have placed it in 
/usr/share, unpacked it and tried to run ./configure. I received an error:

configure: error: Cannot find ltdl.h -- libtool-devel not installed?
[root at localhost gnucash-1.8.8]#

but a locate for the file gives

[root at localhost gnucash-1.8.8]# locate ltdl.h
/usr/usr/autotool/devel/include/ltdl.h
/usr/usr/autotool/devel/share/libtool/libltdl/ltdl.h
/usr/usr/include/ltdl.h
[root at localhost gnucash-1.8.8]#

So I guess the file is not where gnucash is expecting it to be, but I 
can't see from the configure script where that location might be.

libtool-devel is installed:

[root at localhost gnucash-1.8.8]# locate libtool-devel

Can anyone show me how to proceed?
