SuSE call the package "slib". In SuSE 9.0, the version is 2d5-87. The 
information for slib-package says it provides: "scheme:/usr/lib/scheme/slib/
umbscheme.init".

I am not sure what features 1.8.7-4 provides. I know that 1.8.7-0 that comes 
with SuSE 9.0 works. If you need to use GnuCash, try to re-install 1.8.7-0 
from the SuSE-package.  Hm, maybe this solution was too obvious :-)

My GnuCash 1.8.7-0 from SuSE 9.0 package works just fine for me (running 
KDE...)
