Errors compiling Gnucash for Mac OSX

I think your (obvious) experience with apt may be leading you astray a 
little:

fink list gal

shows:
      gal19            0.19.2-35    GNOME application library
      gal19-common                  [virtual package]
  i   gal19-shlibs     0.19.2-35    GNOME application library
  i   gal199           1.99.11-8    The GNOME Accessibility Library
      gal199-dev       1.99.11-8    The GNOME Accessibility Library
  i   gal199-shlibs    1.99.11-8    The GNOME Accessibility Library
  i   gal21            0.22-14      GNOME application library
  i   gal21-shlibs     0.22-14      GNOME application library

Three different versions on my OSX 10.3 with Gnucash installed and running.

Fink lists the dependencies for each package in an .info file:
sudo find /sw -name gnucash.info

/sw/fink/10.3/stable/main/finkinfo/gnome/gnucash.info
/sw/fink/10.3/unstable/main/finkinfo/gnome/gnucash.info

And those lists gal21-shlibs. If I'm reading the dpkg display quoted 
above correctly you have that installed, yes?
Maybe its worth doing

fink rebuild gal21-shlibs

And trying your gnucash compile again.

I updated Gnucash yesterday and it compiled fine...
