trouble compiling gnucash 1.8.9 on Redhat 9 with XD2

Hello,

I'm having trouble compiling gnucash 1.8.9 on Redhat 9 with XD2. It's
failing at the part where it checks for gtkhtml. I have the following
gtkhtml RPMs installed: 

gtkhtml2-2.2.4-0.ximian.6.4
gtkhtml-1.1.9-0.9.1
gtkhtml-devel-1.1.9-0.9.1
gnome-python2-gtkhtml2-1.99.14-5
gtkhtml3.0-3.0.10-0.ximian.6.1
libgtkhtml3.0_4-3.0.10-0.ximian.6.1


Any idea why the tests are failing on my system?
