Roger,

I don't have OS X, but it looks like this is X11 security getting in the way. 
The idea here is that only roger should be able to put stuff on roger's 
display. However, you can change this.

As roger, run "xhost +" before you run the su command. If you have a multiuser 
machine you should really run something like "xhost +local:gnucash", but I'm 
not sure if it's the same on OS X as on Gentoo Linux, see "man xhost" for 
more info.
