upgrading problems?

Hi, I'm upgrading from Redhat 7.2 (yes its ancient) to Fedora Core 2.  Which 
means that I'm upgrading from GnuCash version 1.6.6 to whatever Fedora Core 2 
has.  Anyway I'm assuming that ifs its not 1.8.9, I can get and install 1.8.9.  
I was wondering if I'll be able to just copy over my old files and everything 
will work?  or if there are somethings that I need to know.
