No, there is not.

All current effort is directed toward the gnome2 UI port, and there's
not much current effort being spent on gnucash overall.

GnuCash is generally structured to allow front-/back-end independence. 
At the same time, there is too much "business logic" in the GUI-related
files.  Any set of changes which makes this seperation more clear is
welcome.
