I'm pretty sure he means what type of currency are you using, i.e.
US Dollar, Euro, etc. It looks like from your screenshot all of
your accounts are in CAD, so currency conversions is unlikely to
be the problem.

Do you have any transactions in your non-leaf accounts directly?
For example, if you double-click on the Contra account itself,
are there any transactions in it? If there are, those transactions
will also be included in the total to the right, which will make
it look like the total of the sub-accounts under the contra account
do not add together to make the total correct.

For example if I have an account with 2 sub-accounts and I have
three transactions like this:

Expenses:Food
Expenses:Food:Fast Food
Expenses:Food:Fine Dining

If I make 3 transactions from my "Cash In Wallet" account to the
expense accounts above for $1, $10, and $100 respectively, when
I view the accounts in the account tree it will show a total of
$111 under Expenses:Food, even though the sub-accounts of
Expenses:Food only add to $110.

Expenses:Food $111
Expenses:Food:Fast Food $ 10
Expenses:Food:Fine Dining	$100
