Install help

These are for Slackware 9, but I was able to get an install working on 
Slackware 10 with these instructions.

The lack of a gnome-config file indicates to me that you don't have 
gnome version 1 installed.  Like my stock Slackware 10.  Most likely you 
have a gnome 2.x installed (or no gnome?), but gnucash uses 1.x.

So you can see why the distribution is relevant.
