Trying to resolve OSX crashing

The GnuCash docs are a separate package, have you installed gnucash-docs on 
BOTH machines? That's normally why the files can't be found.

Must be something about Macs - makes the user think the only way to solve 
problems is to uninstall and reinstall. That's a last resort and can cause 
more problems than it's worth - it doesn't usually fix the problem either!

Solve the problem, don't complicate things!

NO! Generally, files in /sw need to be installed, not copied - that often 
involves configuration which will be omitted if you simply copy.
