gnucash GUI

I'm young enough to have just about grown up on Win 9x/XP and am used
to the soft lines and smooth transitions. I use KDE instead of Gnome
as my default window manager because the lines are softer (althought
the previews of Gnome 2.10 look promising). The GnuCash UI feels very
"DOS" to me. I realize there is some very complex machinary under the
hood, but the UI feels like someting I could have created (which isn't
a compliment in anyone's book). Whenever I start GnuCash, I feel like
I'm wasting at least 63MB of the 64MB memory on my video card. Being
extremely new to Linux, it helps to have applications that are
intuitive and pleasing to look at.
>From reviews I've read, GnuCash is the single most able-bodied
accounting application available for Linux, and I appreciate all the
work that has been done on it and contiunes to be done.
