I just tested 1.8-current (which should be close enough to 1.8.10) and
it works just fine for me. I opened a stock account, typed in my
description, set the transfer account my Bank, then entered '0'
specifically in the price and shares colums, then typed '20' in the
sell column. Then I hit "enter", and it worked just fine.

So, it could be a new-in-1.8.10 feature, but I thought it was possible
in 1.8.9 as well.

As for Debian, well, it's a libofx issue keeping gnucash out, last I
heard. Talk to the maintainer(s).
