Invoice number sequence.

I am using gnucash for my business and I have a little irritation: I 
changed the default Invoice number to start where my old invoices left 
off. Gnucash does not seem to remember this, with the result that I must 
remember the last invoice number and key it in manually for every 
invoice. Can I set this or change this behaviour?
