Could be either.  The Balance Sheet in 1.8 is known to have issues
with handling the changing value of multiple commodities..  It does
not properly track capital gains/losses across commodity changes.

I _think_ the version in CVS (HEAD and g2) is better, but I've
never tested it myself.
