Stock Options in GNUCash

I noticed tin the GNUCash manual there is a section on stock options marked 
"still to be written".

Doing searches on the web, I found list archive articles from 2003 stating 
that GNUCash doesn't really do stock options, but can fake it if you really 
want.

This seems to imply an inconsistency. If there is a 'to be written' section of 
the manual, I would expect there is some way to do it. Does anyone know how? 
Or will the as-yet unwritten section basically say "don't try"?
